What the bible says
  • O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
  • (Galatians 3:1-3)

And Finally
  • But no one puts a piece of new cloth onto an old garment. For its filling up takes away from the garment, and a worse tear takes its place. Nor do they put new wine into old skins; otherwise, the skins are burst, and the wine pours out, and the skins will be ruined. But they put new wine into fresh skins, and both are preserved together.
  • (Matthew 9:16-17)
