- The modern holiday of Halloween has its origins in the ancient Gaelic
festival known as Samhain (pronounced /'s?aun?/ from the Old Irish
samain). The Festival of Samhain is a celebration of the end of the
harvest season in Gaelic culture, and is erroneously[2] regarded as 'The
Celtic New Year'.[3] Traditionally, the festival was a time used by the
ancient pagans to take stock of supplies and slaughter livestock for
winter stores.
- When the Romans occupied Celtic territory, several Roman traditions were
also incorporated into the festivals. Feralia, a day celebrated in late
October by the Romans for the passing of the dead as well as a festival
which celebrated the Roman Goddess Pomona, the goddess of fruit were
incorporated into the celebrations. The symbol of Pomona was an apple,
which is a proposed origin for the tradition of bobbing for apples on
Halloween.[6]

- But so is EVERYTHING except communion for a Christian!
- The term pagan is from Latin paganus, an adjective originally meaning
"rural", "rustic" or "of the country." As
a noun, paganus was used to mean "country dweller, villager."
In colloquial use, it could mean much the same as calling someone today
a 'country bumpkin'.
- Basically anything non-Christian

- No Set date
- It’s “as often” as we take communion.
- Does that mean that every other tradition is Pagan in origin and banned
for Christians?
- It certainly means everything else is optional.

- 4th of July – celebrates rebellion against delegated
authority and killing with literal swords instead of swords of the
Spirit in Christ’s name.
- New Years Day – Sun Worship
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day – Not biblical because parents should be
honored every day. Etc…

- They make the law of God of none effect through their traditions.
- By hyper analyzing the scriptures they come up with theories that create
contradictions between scriptures then ignore the scriptures they
contradict to feel holy and prideful.
- The bible doesn’t say only do Communion and nothing else.
- It simply says “as often” as you do this.
- Then it says some other things like “make disciples” and “act like a Jew
to the Jews and Greek to the Greek” to win more converts. Also Jesus
hung out with “non religious” “riff raff” to heal them and love them.
And other “love” based principles.

- Some of you say, "We can do whatever we want to!" But I tell
you that not everything may be good or helpful. We should think about
others and not about ourselves.
(1 Corinthians 10:23-24)
- The criteria for what to do is to choose things that are “good and
helpful” – whatever that means.

- But food doesn't bring us any closer to God. We are no worse off if we
don't eat, and we are no better off if we do. Don't cause problems for
someone with a weak conscience, just because you have the right to eat
anything. You know all this, and so it doesn't bother you to eat in the
temple of an idol. But suppose a person with a weak conscience sees you
and decides to eat food that has been offered to idols. Then what you
know has destroyed someone Christ died for. When you sin by hurting a
follower with a weak conscience, you sin against Christ. So if I hurt
one of the Lord's followers by what I eat, I will never eat meat as long
as I live.

- When I am with the Jews, I live like a Jew to win Jews. They are ruled
by the Law of Moses, and I am not. But I live by the Law to win them.
And when I am with people who are not ruled by the Law, I forget about
the Law to win them. Of course, I never really forget about the law of
God. In fact, I am ruled by the law of Christ. When I am with people
whose faith is weak, I live as they do to win them. I do everything I
can to win everyone I possibly can.

- You are like light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill
cannot be hidden, and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay
pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to
everyone in the house. Make your light shine, so that others will see
the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

- Later when Jesus was eating supper at Matthew's house with his close
followers, a lot of disreputable characters came and joined them. When
the Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company, they had a fit, and
lit into Jesus' followers. "What kind of example is this from your
Teacher, acting cozy with crooks and riff-raff?" Jesus,
overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the
sick?

- If you don’t celebrate Halloween then don’t celebrate Christmas, Easter,
Birthdays, First Communions, Baby Baptisms and Thanksgiving, New Years
etc…
- Be like a Jehovah’s Witness and follow the letter of the law not the
spirit of the law.
- Be consistent in your hypocrisy.
- And if the above list sounds ok to you then become a Jehovah’s Witness
- Or to avoid offending a weaker brother some churches change the names of
the Holidays like Halloween becomes “Hallelujah Festival”. That’s like
Michael Jackson calling wine “Jesus Juice”

- Act like who you’re trying to win to Christ but always be subject to the
law of Christ.
- If you hang out with “riff raff” don’t acquire their sins. They should
become like Christ. You shouldn’t become like them.
- We are to meet people where they are. Jesus didn’t sit in a church and
wait for sinners to seek him out. He met them where they were.
- If you’re an ex alcoholic Christians and still have issues with alcohol
you probably shouldn’t go to bars to evangelize. Unless you’re really
“clean”.
- If weaker Christians are made to stumble by your actions hide from them
and act to win people to Christ.
- Salt in the salt shaker is Useless. We are the salt of the world.
